As a farming community in Capiz that has experienced hunger for decades, Kap Edwin Saldo’s worries for his constituents doubled up when the pandemic hit. People lost jobs and the issue of hunger just became bigger.
As a daring Future Maker, Kap Edwin confidently partnered with ARK on a program that has never been done before. And with Feed Back, for the first time in decades, there is no hunger in Traciano. 86% of total population secured food, exchanged produce and sold their excess.
Before Feed Back, families farmed 1 to 2 crops. Now they have access to 76 kinds of vegetables and fruits across the entire community. 6 months post-Feed Back, Traciano families are still planting and continue to sell their excess harvest in Roxas City.

When we met Kap Erning in October 2020, he shared with us the struggle of Sto Nino, a fishing village in Busuanga, and his desire for people to have something to eat for Christmas.
With Kap Erning’s determination, he led the community to not only solving for Christmas salu-salo as they have so much excess they are now supplying their own village and an island community.
Sto. Nino achieved the highest penetration of at-risk families at 117% among partner Palawan communities The fisherfolks want it more and embraced a new diskarte: “Tanim sa aga, laot sa gabi.”
